The Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum, operated by the Lake County Historical Society, will be closed Sunday, November 20, so docents and volunteers can attend the Historical Society’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner. The meeting starts at 1:30 p.m. at the Lakeport Senior Center with dinner being served at 2:00 p.m. The senior center is located at 527 Konocti Avenue in Lakeport. Tickets for LCHS members are $15.00, non-member tickets are $18.00, and tickets for children twelve and under are $5.00. The public is invited.
Living History Days have been suspended for November and December due to the holidays. The event will resume on the 4th Saturday of January, 2017.
The Lake County Historical Society’s Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum is located at 9921 State Hwy 281 (Soda Bay Road) in Kelseyville, near Clear Lake Riviera, just north of Hwy 29-Kit’s Corner. Current hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday. Private tours can be arranged by appointment. Facilities are available to support events, conferences, or family gatherings. Celebrate a wedding, reception, special anniversary, or family reunion.
The Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum welcomes more docents to greet visitors and share information on our history, our current displays, and our planned events. Volunteers for maintenance and construction projects are also needed.
