It’s November which means set your clocks back Saturday night and be on time for the Fiddlers Jam held in the barn at Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum. We are experiencing some beautiful fall weather and the fiddlers are ready to play some music for you to enjoy and sing along. We have put together a beautiful fall basket for our monthly raffle and we also have our quilt with raffle tickets available for purchase. The quilt winner will be drawn at our annual meeting in November 2018 to give the Historical Society more time to share the quilt with all of you.
The Lake County Historical Society’s Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum is located at 9921 State Hwy. 281 (Soda Bay Road) in Kelseyville, near Clearlake Riviera, just north of Hwy. 29 – Kit’s Corner. Current hours of operation are 11am to 3 pm each Saturday and Sunday. Fiddlers’ Jams occur the first Sunday of every month from noon until 2 pm. Private tours can be arranged by appointment. We are providing the setting for an upcoming wedding in November and have already held one wedding on our wrap around porch and another wedding in the barn. We are hosting a memorial service in our barn next month and also providing the location for educating some local third graders on how things were done in the late 1800’s with a variety of educational stations.
If you can spare just a few hours a month, the Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum welcomes you to become a docent to greet visitors and share information on our history, our current displays and our planned events. Volunteers for maintenance and construction projects are also needed. Come join the Lake County Historical Society and become a volunteer at Ely.
