This is in honor of the current display of the painting and Pomo cultural life featured at the de Young Museum in San Francisco between now and April 17th.
A life-size replica of the painting will be on-hand. If you can’t make it to San Francisco, come to the Ely on Feb. 12th to see and hear about Tavernier’s best work of art

PUBLIC TALK: Learn about the two Native American Massacres in Lake County and what lead up to them. Dr. John Parker will present his research on “The Kelsey Brothers; A California Disaster”.When: October 9th at 2:00 Where: The Ely Stage Stop Museum (in the Red Barn) 9921 Soda Bay Road (just north of Kitt’s Corner).The research relies on 20 published references including interviews with tribal elders and local ranchers, government documents, and diaries of participants. The work is an attempt to determine what really happened during events that have been shrouded with the passage of time.
C’mon up and see us
The weather is getting pleasantly cooler. The volunteer docents at the Ely Stage Stop Museum would like to invite you to come visit. Pack a picnic lunch and bring the whole family up to Ely. Ely will provide the picnic table and 5 and a half acres to explore. Come see our stagecoach and chuckwagon and curious artifacts from all over. Ely is located at 9921 Soda Bay Rd. in Kelseyville. We are open from 11:00 to 3:00 Saturday and Sunday.
